As the pre-season comes to a crashing halt, the looming black cloud of roster cuts is officially over our heads. With that being said, we have put together a list of players, based on the Buffalo Bills roster (found at BuffaloBills.com) of who is practice squad eligible
This is where things get confusing. Not all players are practice squad eligible. The Collective Bargaining Agreement was worded in a way that you can have a ten player practice squad, however, only 4 of those players can have two accrued seasons. To simplify, an accrued season happens when you have spent six weeks on a 53 man roster. The rules, as you would expect, are a bit more complicated than that, however we can roll with that outline for now.
Less Than Two Accrued Seasons
Ray-Ray McCloud III
Christian Wade (Possible International Player Exemption)
Two Seasons Accrued:
Victor Bolden Jr.
This list has a lot of names on it and some of then are quite surprising. While I certainly am not going to preach this as gospel, it should at least push you in the right direction for whom on the roster might end up back on the practice squad around 1pm EST this coming Sunday.
