Make what you will about the Bills aggressive nature in the NFL Draft, the fact remains that they knew who the wanted and did everything they could to get him. As the days post-draft unfold, more and more stories are surfacing about just how relentless the Buffalo Bills actually were.

Now, as many of you know, if you have followed a lot of the Hashtag Sports Articles, there is a lot of speculation that goes into many of the comments. Some of them end up coming to fruition, as noted in an article on May 5th of this year, saying that if the Bills somehow were able to get Sammy Watkins, the Buffalo Bills might show Stevie Johnson the door. Unpopular as that move might have been, fear of the unknown is even more evident for the fans of the Buffalo Bills. But some moves that have taken place, might just be just as alarming looking down the road for the Bills' offensive starters. Mario "Game" Granata
An idea that was echoed even before the 2014 NFL Draft took place, if the Buffalo Bills were to select Sammy Watkins with their first pick, would that mean the end of Stevie Johnson's career in Buffalo? That question was answered on Day 2 of the draft as Johnson was sent to San Francisco for a 4th round pick, and a move that left many of the Buffalo faithful questioning the move. Taking a look at the business end of the deal, it is apparent that the Bills are looking ahead. by Paul "Closer" Wanecski
Ladies and Gentlemen, the madness is about to begin. After months of anticipations (and a designed delay of this years’ NFL Draft to happen several weeks later than usual, with the league stating that Radio City Music Hall had a conflict with the dates for an event that was eventually cancelled for lack of interest anyway) the spectacle of the NFL is upon us. Today is a day where anything can, and typically does, happen. by Paul "Closer" Wanecski
As chronicled on in both previous blogs and on the Hashtag Sports show, there is a huge difference between players picked 1-10 or 11-32 in the NFL draft from a salary perspective. The Buffalo Bills have been in the news weekly about what they intend to do, be that trade up, trade back, or stand with the 9th overall pick. All bring different consequences. by Paul "Closer" Wanecski
Let us be honest for a moment, no one can predict who will and who will not be successful on an NFL level. When you factor in the level of competition, the social pressure and suddenly making more money than you can possibly conceive, the struggles on a young NFL are well documented. The strong do not always survive, but, wouldn’t it be great to be paid to tell America what you think and have nearly zero accountability? by Mario "Game" Granata
As the days wind down, and the weather is breaking in Western New York, the consensus around the 716 is that the Buffalo Bills, with all the talks around moving up in the draft to nab Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans (and even the pipe dream of drafting Jadeveon Clowney) it seems that the sexy pick and the more sensible one are at odds. Why would the Bills be better off not taking Watkins or Evans? by Mario "Game" Granata
Usually, around this time, the NFL Draft would be over, and fans and players alike will be dissecting playbooks and researching the newest members of their teams, but with the 2014 NFL Draft pushed into May, there is more time for teams to dot their I's and cross their T's before selecting players that will help their franchise. What does this longer time mean for fans and players alike? by Paul "Closer" Wanecski
Much has been made of the rookie wage scale in the NFL, but what people don't realize how much this actually affects the way that teams approach the draft from a financial standpoint. There has been a shift in the draft for teams in the past few years, but how does the wage scale actually work? by Mario "Game" Granata
Mock Drafts for the National Football League are all the rage, and since Mel Kiper Jr. is constantly spewing out predictions here and there, I thought I would throw my hat into the proverbial ring, and test out my draft chops. Now, I have only supplied the Top 10 in the upcoming 2014 Draft, and I have a few reasons behind my madness, and if I am wrong with my picks come May 8th, at least I can say that I am no worse then Mel. |
