As players enter the National Football League it is without a doubt a major culture shock. They have money in their bank account (debatable if you went to USC) and the sole focus can be dedicated to playbook study, weight room time and eating right as opposed to the distractions a student athlete navigates while playing a sport and obtaining a degree (again, debatable if you graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in Graphic Design-see Manti T’eo). One this is totally undeniable; playing Madden 25 does not make you a better football player. Now the real question is who told Teddy Bridgewater that it did?

I have long been a proponent for the "purity" of the game, no matter if it was baseball, football, basketball, hockey, etc. but with the recent changes that have been made to all of those sports, in terms of banning substances, it seems that it's getting harder and harder to find players that are using illegal substances in professional sports. But, what can be done to police these players, since the current system is somewhat flawed? Mario "Game" Granata
Well, the name says it all, doesn't it? After eclipsing a milestone in my own personal life, I thought about how, with all the bumps and bruises that I have accumulated over my time playing sports, how some of these quarterbacks in the National Football League are able to get up, day after day, and perform. It really is amazing, how these "old guys" or "candidates" are able to do it, so I figured I would highlight their accomplishments, and have a little fun at the same time. If quarterbacks were in the White House, this is how it would look. by Mario "Game" Granata
If you have read many of the posts here at Hashtag Sports, you will see statistical analysis, projections, and other comments about the game of football, and there is a reason for that: Football is America’s Game. Now, many of the readers might have a different opinion about which sport is their favorite, but to me, football highlights the highs and lows that one would encounter in life, but where did this love start? by Mario "Game" Granata
With the 2014 Draft later this year, there are just some things that people are talking about that make you shake your head. Johnny Manziel scored a 32 on the Wonderlic and all the fans of Johnny Football are coming out of the woodwork to talk about how this will make him a lock as a Top 10 pick. As Lee Corso would say, 'Not so fast, my friend.' by Mario "Game" Granata
Is the running back position becoming a thing of the past? With all of the mock drafts that are coming out, not one of them has a running back in the top 10. Jim Brown weighed in on this very topic, and didn't have high praise for some of the current players in the league, and with the NFL evolving, it's either sink or swim for the running back position by Mario "Game" Granata
With players seemingly going to greener pastures, sometimes the ride is more bumpy then they expect. Eric Decker has ventured out to gauge his true worth, but will this play for more money backfire on him? by Mario "Game" Granata
Too many times the West has not come out on top when the cards were down. Take a look as this season in the NFL might be different with the teams left vying for the Lombardi Trophy, and ultimately how the west will be won. by Mario "Game" Granata
With the remarkable season that Peyton Manning is having, it seems that people still want to bring up the name Tom Brady and his lack of weapons. People tend to forget the type of wideouts that Manning had in his final days of Indianapolis, and why comparing these two quarterbacks is not really a comparison at all. |
