The 2018 Lions went through some major changes with several major changes. The biggest was 1st-year head coach Matt Patricia. Unfortunately, the season did not go to plan finishing last place in the NFC North with a 6-10 record. The bigger surprise might have been how anemic their offense could be at times. For the first time since Matt Stafford’s rookie year, the Lions failed to score 17 points in 8 games. Only scoring a total of 324 points (20.25 per game). That was actually 3 worst in the entire NFC. Obviously, major changes were coming. by Mario Granata
One season after playing in the AFC Championship, the Jacksonville Jaguars have fallen on hard times...and back into the Top-10 of the NFL Draft. A team that, on paper, seems poised to make a run again with a punishing ground attack and an even tougher defense, when you have Blake Bortles as your quarterback, there is only so much a team can do. Now that one problem is solved, is 2019 the year where the Jaguars get back to their winning formula? by Paul Wanecski
It wouldn’t be hard to make an argument that things have exploded for the Giants; it’s a popular argument to make right now. While there may be a population of Giants fans that are accepting of a team in transition, I can assure that you New York sports fans can only be patient for so long and even entering just his second season, General Manager Dave Gettleman looks to skating on ice as thin as a thin-crust pizza in Times Square. With much of the offseason talk centering around the Wide Receiver or Defensive Lineman position, could the Bills be in the running to take a linebacker in the early rounds of the 2019 NFL Draft?

What a start to 2018 it was, huh? "Fitzmagic" ran rampant in September (again) with wins against the Saints and Eagles, both of whom would win a game in the NFC Postseason. But, in typical Ryan Fitzpatrick fashion, he crashed and burned and so did the team around him, losing 11 of its last 14 games and finishing in the basement of the NFC South. With Jameis Winston still trying to figure out if he’s going to be a good quarterback or not and a great receiver in Mike Evans, the Buccaneers main focus will be fortifying the defense which finished sixth-worst in the league in allowing 383.4 yards per game last season. by Ryan Lasal
John Gruden and Mike Mayock ftw? While John Gruden has the pedigree to leave Raiders fans optimistic heading into his second season, Mike Mayock is about to show the football world whether a draft analyst can be a General Manager. Although, since the Raiders won’t even start playing in Vegas until 2020, does anything that happens this season even matter? One thing is for sure if this team isn’t the focus of HBO’s Hard Knocks series this year, HBO has failed us all. Not in the car? No problem. Hashtag Sports takes a look at how the Buffalo Bills have set themselves up for some very interesting options heading into the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Jets finally landed who they hope to be their franchise QB in Sam Darnold in last years draft. But while the offense seemed to be making strides, the team fell apart to the tune of a 4-12 record. The collapse ultimately led to the unceremonious exit of Head Coach Todd Bowles and replacing him with another coach recently fired within the same division, Adam Gase formally of the Miami Dolphins. The Jets undoubtedly have some studs on offense, notably Darnold. But is that enough to bring the Jets to the forefront of the AFC East? by Mario Granata
After seeing your quarterback (Jimmy Garoppolo) and running back (Jerick McKinnon) go out, Kyle Shanahan had to scramble to put a workable offense together for the remainder of the season. As a result, the 49ers are drafting 2nd in the 2019 NFL Draft. While the 49ers have some explosive players in place, playing in a division with the Seahawks and the Rams the latter making it to the Super Bowl, is a tough task to take. As Shanahan tries to get his program going and recapture some of the magic from the final weeks of the 2017 season, what are some of the obstacles facing San Francisco in 2019? |
